Mobile phones have become an essential part of our lives, and no matter if we like it or not, we make more use of our smartphones than of any other little thing, be it our glasses, wallet, or watch.

And people actually admit this bond with their mobile phones, so it shouldn’t come as a big surprise that a recently conducted study has revealed just that: most users cannot live without their smartphone.

The research conducted by Gallup revealed that iPhone users are the most addicted to their handsets, with 52 percent of them revealing that “they can’t imagine their lives without their smartphones.” Android owners come in second, with 43 percent of them saying the same thing, while Windows Phone and BlackBerry users are a little bit behind with only 27 percent.

Gallup has more information on the ages of those who can’t live without a phone:

“Smartphone attachment is higher among women (51%) than men (41%), and among younger than older adults. And at each age level, women are more likely than men to say they can't imagine life without their phone. As a result, women under 30 are the most likely of all gender/age groups to feel this way (58%), while men 65 and older are the least likely (35%).”
Microsoft: We want people to love Windows

Coincidence or not, Microsoft knows that it needs to work harder to boost the customer appeal of its mobile devices, so CEO Satya Nadella has said on several occasions that, with Windows 10, they want “people to love Windows.”

Windows 10 Mobile is supposed to do just that and address some of the biggest annoyances of Windows Phone, with Microsoft also hoping to resolve the lack of apps that made so many people move to Android and iOS.

Windows 10 Mobile will come with support for universal apps, which will be designed to run on all Windows 10 devices, including PCs, tablets, and smartphones.
