We’ve seen bits and pieces of juicy information about the Lumia 930, but new information provides more along the line of surprises.

First, the release date. According to Microsoft, the Lumia 930 will go on sale in the UK on July 17th, so UK customers should get ready to purchase a device that looks to be yet another impressive Lumia device. The device will go on sale in UK retail stores Carphone Warehouse, Phones4U, O2, EE, Vodafone, Tesco, and even online retailer Amazon. The price of the Lumia 930 looks as if it’ll be 99 euros up-front with 33 euros each month, but the off-contract price will be 480 euros.

As for the specs and features of the Lumia 930, Microsoft’s new smartphone will feature a 5-inch organic light-emitting diode (OLED) display with a 1920 x 1080p Full HD screen resolution. The Lumia 930 will run under the hood with a 2.2Ghz, quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor and have a 20MP PureView back camera. The Lumia 930 will run Windows 8.1 as its operating system.

Microsoft looks to emerge with its own smartwatch (featuring the Surface label, perhaps) this Fall that will run on not only Windows, but also Android and iOS. The company’s purchased a number of smartwatch patents, and Satya Nadella’s commitment to cross-platform services as of late (e.g., Microsoft Office) shows Microsoft’s newest agenda.

In addition to the standard pricing, Microsoft’s making the Lumia 930 wireless charging compatible, but those who purchase a Lumia 930 from July 17th through July 31st will receive a free wireless charger, a 20-euro app voucher, plus an MD-12 audio speaker. The retail price for Microsoft’s free offerings totals 130 euros.
