Netflix launches Windows 10 PC and tablet app, Windows 10 Mobile app due in 'near future'

Netflix has finally launched its promised new app made for Windows 10 PC and tablets, made with Microsoft's Universal Windows Platform tools. The streaming video app is still not available for Windows 10 Mobile smartphones, both both Microsoft and Netflix say that support is coming "in the near future"

Netflix says the Windows 10 app has been optimized so that it works on a variety of screen sizes and resolutions. It also changes depending on if the user is interacting with the app with a mouse or on a touchscreen.

"Since many Windows 10 devices support touch input on integrated displays or via gestures on their trackpad, we have included affordances for both in this update. When a member is browsing content with a mouse, paginated scrolling of the content within a row is enabled by buttons on the ends of the row. When a member is using touch on an integrated display or via gestures on their trackpad, inertial scrolling of rows is enabled via swipe gestures."

The Netflix Live Tile on Windows 10's Start menu shows artwork from a user's Continue Watching list. Microsoft also mentions the new and improved search options in the app, which includes support for Cortana:
