Microsoft might be thinking about implementing a new modular upgrade system for the hardware in the Xbox One, but the company is for the moment focused on introducing new features to the device the old fashioned way, by delivering monthly firmware updates with new elements.

Those who are part of the Preview program will be able to use the improvements, which are largely based on the feedback that has been offered over the past few months by gamers, right now while the rest of the user base will receive access to them before the end of the month.
Larry Hryb, aka Major Nelson, the main community liaison when it comes to Xbox One matters, explains on his blog that gamers will be able to pick up all the Xbox 360 titles that are part of the backward compatibility program using a special store, with the console set to download automatically them after they are purchased.
Twitch broadcasts on the device also get a boost with the addition of party chat, with Microsoft saying that "If you are broadcasting from your console and in a party, you can invite other people to include their chat audio in your broadcast. If a member of your party declines, they’ll still be able to chat in the party; they just won’t be heard in the broadcast."
Gamers can also mute a certain audio channel, and those who have a Windows 10 PC can also be integrated with the new feature, and the output can now be directed towards both headsets and speakers at the same time.
Xbox One's Game DVR is also getting a boost The capture system for the Microsoft home console is introducing the option of setting recording length to 15, 30 or 45 seconds or 1, 3 or 5 minutes to suit their playing style and sharing tendencies.
The Xbox One Guide can now be used to track Achievement progress, and the activity feed itself is getting the ability to directly play video, with a full range of options.
The special app dedicated to the home console on Windows 10 is also getting an upgrade, and one of the core features is a new Gamerscore leaderboard with full stats for those who play a particular game and an updated Featured section.
Xbox 360 Achievements are also now integrated, and the game hub will now support the addition of both web and YouTube hyperlinks.
A tool to easily compare Avatars is also coming to both the Xbox One and the associated app, with a preview for clothing, props and accessories.
In order to improve the overall quality of the community created around the console, Microsoft is also making it easy for gamers to see when a certain user who's reputation has been rated as either "needs work" or "avoid me."
Recently Microsoft has revealed that it has plans to continue to integrate the Xbox One into the wider Windows 10 environment, and more information about the planned hardware upgrade system might be offered before the end of the year.
