Video Game Releases July 27- August 2: 'The Last of Us' - PS4, 'Guardians of the Galaxy' & More

Since before the PS4 was released, fans cried out for a Naughty Dog title. Let the remastering commence.
The Last of Us: Remastered (PS4)

As much as any re-release, 'The Last of Us' just seemed like a slam-dunk to come to the PS4, even it only was released just last year. With 'The Last of Us: Remastered,' veteran players of the PS3 version can expect both full 1080p and 60fps, higher rez (texture) characters, new lighting effects, better environment textures, and DS4 improvements. This of course, is in addition to the base game, and all released DLC. Read the review for the original PS3 version here, and the 'Left Behind' DLC here.

Titanfall: Frontier's Edge (Xbox One, PC)

As was promised long before the game's original release, 'Titanfall' players are about to get their second map pack, provided that they are ready to pay for the new pack or have the season pass. 'Titanfall: Frontier's Edge' adds 'Dig Site,' 'Haven,' and 'Exports.'

The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky (PC)

'The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky' is the new HD remade PC version of Nihom Falcom Corporation's (of 'Ys' fame) classic JPRG series. The game is the first part of a sub trilogy (and thereby suitable for anyone), but this time around, it seems that Western audiences can take the plunge knowing that the two subsequent parts of the trilogy will also be released. With a design from 2004, the combat mixes traditionally turn-based mechanics with a larger degree of in-battle mobility. The jump in visual quality from 2011's PSP version and the new PC version should be a motivation for any fan, and fans should expect to be able to carry over their new PC saves to the second chapter once it releases.

'Guardians of the Galaxy Pinball' (Xbox One, PS4, 360, PS3, PC, Mac, iOS, Android, Amazon)

With a flourish of zeal, Zen Studios is surprising fans with a new 'Guardians of the Galaxy Pinball' table. The new table looks to be born of the same passion infused in both the recent 'Deadpool' and 'Star Wars' tables, and players can expect a table packed with details. The four-ball multiball looks especially fun. For Xbox One owners, the release coincides with the debut of 'Pinball FX 2' on the Xbox One, which based of its 'Zen Pinball 2' PS4 counterpart, should be excellent. Make no mistake, while the tables play great on all platforms, the jump from say PS3 to PS4 is worth its visual payoff. As usual, owners of a PS3/PS4/Vita will want to purchase the table on the PS3 or Vita first and then import onto the PS4.

The Room (PC)

One of the most popular offline iOS games in recent years has to be 'The Room,' which now comes to the PC. This new version of the 2012 puzzler includes the EPILOGUE DLC as well as a serious visual overhaul. Check out the review of the sequel here.
