Jiggster, the new, free mobile marketplace app for the video gaming community, has launched on Android in the UK, created specifically to trade, sell or buy console video games, commission-free. With gaming fans increasingly frustrated at being ripped-off by unfair trade-in deals, Jiggster provides a totally free platform to help gamers connect with other gamers to barter and negotiate fair deals in real time, cutting out the traditional retail middlemen.

Jiggster works by helping users find deals through matching their gaming genres, consoles and locations, then suggests a deal offer that the fan can accept or barter via the tracked, 1:1 chat functionality, enabling a safe and fun way to negotiate and swap their own games.

Since launching the Beta a few weeks ago, Jiggster has had almost 4,000 downloads, 2,900 active users and more than 1,500 registered profiles, with around 1,300 deals suggested and over 1,400 messages sent within the app community.

With the games sector in the UK alone worth over £2billion*, the world-famous brand agency BBH (Bartle Bogle Hegarty), came on board early to incubate the project, managed within their innovation venture unit ZAG. With this seed funding, Jiggster has already had £150K invested in the company, and has recently launched a “crowd round” investment via CrowdCube, inviting passionate gamers and early stage investors to be a part of it’s exciting growth story.

Neil Ghosh, Jiggster’s CEO said:

“As a fanatical gamer, I got frustrated at seeing the value of my games being destroyed by the existing trade-in options. We developed Jiggster as a simple solution to enable gamers to get access to new games from like-minded peers, and make their own, fair, trading deals,”

“To share our growth and take Jiggster to the next level, I hope to find both passionate gaming evangelists and equally passionate investors, and we believe Crowdcube is the best platform for them to take part in our venture and help make the service even better,”

Neil Munn, Global COO of BBH shares why the global brand agency giant has backed Jiggster and added:

“The UK gaming industry is undergoing a transformation from a retail and hardware perspective, resulting in a great opportunity for new global brands to emerge,”

“With our help as a global communications and marketing agency and Jiggster’s unique solution that makes bartering games fun and instantly gratifying, we believe Jiggster can establish itself at the forefront of this transformation.”
