Ubisoft revealed some very ambitious plans for the future of The Division after it arrives on March 8 and the development team at Ubisoft working on the title says that it wants to make sure that all the coming content introduces interesting ways for gamers to interact with the game world.

The company is planning to deliver two free updates in April and May, which will introduce two new game modes and will expand the mechanics of the original release, and after that three paid downloadable content packs are coming until winter.
Magnus Jansen, the creative director, working on The Division, tells Gamespot that the Incursion coming one month after launch will offer a new Player versus Environment activity that requires a group of four players who have reached maximum level with their characters.
The creator says the combat is very challenging and that the company plans to offer a wide range of new Incursions over time to add variety of the mix of shooter and role-playing game.
Survival is the second free expansion for The Division, set for summer, and the game director says the new Dark Zone based mode is not a take on the classic horde concept and will feature some unique mechanics that will be revealed closer to launch.
Ubisoft wants to continuously challenge gamers Magnus Jansen adds, "We’ve decided to be ambitious with the innovation in the DLC expansions. At the heart of each one is a completely new experience; we’re not primarily adding a little bit ‘more of the same’ of what’s available at launch. We want to build on the experience that’s within the game."
Underground is coming to The Division in June, a paid DLC package that will take the players under the streets of New York and will introduce a powerful new faction for them to fight.
Ubisoft is also working on Last Stand, which is planned to arrive during winter, and between the new content packages, there are plans to also offer mechanics focused patches that will tweak the experience and will eliminate bugs.
The development team has made it clear that they are not planning to use any micro-transactions.
The Division will be offered on the PC, the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 and gamers can now pick up a Season Pass that covers all year one content as well as special editions of the title that do the same.
