November is here, the leaves are falling, and the prices are too: The 2018 Steam Autumn Sale is now live.

The Autumn Sale also sees the return of the Steam Awards, the now-annual ritual in which users nominate games for recognition across a number of ill-described, vaguely-defined, and occasionally outright-bizarre categories—last year's awards gave us "Mom's Spaghetti" and "Whoooaaaaaaa, Dude! 2.0," for instance.

But this year's categories actually fairly conventional, with things like Game of the Year, Best Developer, and Better With Friends. The weirdest one of the bunch is probably Most Fun With a Machine, and even that's clearly defined as a game played as, in, or with some kind of machine—a racing sim, a robot brawler, that sort of thing. Still squishy, but clear enough: If it's got a "mechanized contraption," it's good to go.

Nominating games, playing them, and posting reviews will earn you a badge that levels up as you complete more tasks. The specifics on how to go about it and what you'll get for your efforts are listed on the Steam Awards page, but the bottom line is that if you collect such things, you'll want to jump in.

And of course there are a few games on sale too, such as:

  • Civilization 6 - $18/£15/€18 (75 percent off)
  • Rainbow Six Siege - $14/£12/€14 (65 percent off)
  • Dead By Daylight - $10/£7.50/€10 (50 percent off)
  • Endless Space 2 - $14/£12/€14 (66 percent off)
  • Age of Empires 2 HD - $4/£3€4 (80 percent off)
  • Graveyard Keeper - $14/£11/€12 (30 percent off)

There's a lot more than that—the front page says that there are currently 14,025 games on sale—but Steam is chugging a bit at the moment for obvious reasons, so for the moment I'm just picking from what's right in front of my face. If you run into any super-sweet deals during your explorations, let us know in the comments.

The Steam Autumn Sale runs until 10 am PT/1 pm ET on November 27.
