Video game developer GameFreak and publisher Nintendo have announced that they are planning to launch two new Pokemon titles, called Sun and Moon, on the 3DS handheld before the end of the year and it seems that the experiences might arrive after the device has received an official price cut.

Tsunekazu Ishihara, president and chief executive officer of The Pokemon Company, revealed the two new games but did not offer any details about the mechanics that they will offer or the new characters that will be featured.
The story will be an entirely new one, and the involved companies also explained that simplified Chinese will be offered as a language option for the first time to expand the title's appeal.
J.C. Smith, senior director of consumer marketing at The Pokemon Company, is quoted as saying that, "The Pokemon core series games are the centre of the Pokemon universe and provide some of the most memorable Pokémon moments for our fans. I can’t wait to see what fans think of the new adventures they’ll find in Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon."
Gamers will be able to use the official bank functionality that the series has been experimenting with to move money to Pokemon Sun and Moon from Red, Blue, and Yellow, and to get access to characters that they have secured playing Omega Ruby, Alpha Sapphire, Pokemon X and Y.
More details about the two new titles will be revealed in the coming months, and Nintendo will continue to celebrate the 20 years of franchise history all through 2016.

The 3DS is preparing for a price cut during fall A rumor says that Nintendo, which is switching its focus on a new generation of hardware, is interested in making the handheld attractive to gamers once again and that the plan includes the launch of Pokemon Sun and Moon but also a reduction in price that will arrive before the two titles are introduced.
It's unclear how cheap the device will become or whether the company is also interested in delivering bundles offering the 3DS alongside the most popular titles launched for the platform during the past few years, although no names have been mentioned.
Nintendo is planning to launch at least two other big budget titles for the platform, but then it will switch most of its resources to the much-discussed NX.
The new home console has not yet been officially revealed, but according to rumors, testing runs for the manufacturing process are already ongoing, and some believe that an announcement and launch will take place during the summer.
Nintendo says that it will sell about 12 million units this year, and it seems that the new Legend of Zelda is one of the titles that will arrive before the end of the year and will showcase the new features of the hardware.

The company has said that it wants to continue to offer support for both the Wii U home consoles and the 3DS handheld after the launch of the NX takes place.
