Sony was an absolute beast when it came to first-party titles on the PlayStation 3, and while it has been almost a couple of years since the PlayStation 4 hit stores, the new-gen console still seems pretty dry in content. Thankfully, Sony has announced that it is working on bringing more of its PS3 catalogue to the PS4 in the form of remasters. Here are some games we hope Sony brings over from the previous generation to its new console.

Infamous series

Infamous was one of the first few superhero games that did it right. It had everything – an open world you could find yourself getting lost in, lots of powers to play around with, and a morality system that let you decide whether you want to be the hero or the villain. Its sequel took everything that was good with the original and added a decent helping of new powers and combat abilities on top. The Infamous series was one of the flagships of PlayStation during the PS3 era, and it definitely deserves a remaster so that a newer audience can check out the open-world superhero mayhem Infamous has to offer.

Killzone series - This is one of my Fav games

Killzone – a series that originally started off as Sony’s answer to the Halo franchise – didn’t really start off on the right note. The first game was just terrible, in fact. Thankfully, Killzone 2 and 3 more than made up for the terrible-ness of the first one. Killzone 2 and 3 solved all of the problems that the original had, and ended up being a couple of great shooters with interesting plots and even some fun multiplayer. Sadly, Killzone: Shadow Fall didn’t end up being as good as those two. I do, however, hope that Sony brings the PS3 Killzone games back into the limelight through remasters.

Motorstorm series

The Motorstorm games were some of the most balls-to-the-wall insane racing titles out there, and it’s a shame that Sony hasn’t announced any new Motorstorm game for the PS4. All of the Motorstorm games, with their insane race tracks with epic set pieces that essentially changed courses in the middle of the race, would do insanely well on the PS4. While we may not get any new Motorstorm game for quite a while, hopefully we’ll get the PS3’s Motorstorm games remastered for the PS4.

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots

The Metal Gear series is one of the biggest franchises in the world, and while Metal Gear Solid 2 had a convoluted (and rather controversial at the time) plot, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots somehow, against all odds, managed to make sense of Solid Snake’s and Raiden’s stories. It is also one of the finer stealth games of its time and rightfully deserves a place alongside its current-gen brethren on the PlayStation 4.

Demon’s Souls

The game that started the Souls phenomenon, Demon’s Souls ended up being a prototype for what would eventually go on to become one of the most well-loved games in recent times – Dark Souls. While Demon’s Souls may have some slightly dated gameplay and UI, the core gameplay still holds up quite well to this day. Now that both Dark Souls games as well as Bloodborne were commercially successful, it would be a wise move on Sony’s part to bring Demon’s Souls to the new generation of consoles, if only to show gamers the lesser-known roots of the series.
