Video game developer Obsidian is announcing that the first expansion for the very successful Pillars of Eternity is called The White March and is apparently set to be delivered in a series of episodes all through the year.

The reveal trailer that the companies are showing during E3 2015 says that gamers will be able to find new companions and engage in a new large-scale adventure, designed to deal with an entirely new major threat.

The White March for Pillars of Eternity will also deliver more interactions with the world around the players and Obsidian claims that it will also improve on the core mechanics, taking into account the feedback that players have been offering.

More choices for the various situations that gamers will have to deal with is also planned.

Feargus Urquhart, chief executive officer of ofObsidian Entertainment, states, "We knew, when we started work on the game following our crowdfunding campaign, that we had the potential to create the kind of game we’d wanted to see again for a long time. Evidently, we weren’t alone in that. With The White March, we’re going to ensure that we live up to the praise we’ve received and the faith our fans have placed in us."

The name of the expansion suggests that Icewind Dale might be one of the inspirations that the development team is using when creating the new content.
Paradox Interactive might be ready for its own Kickstarter

The role-playing game was created using about 5 million dollars (4.5 million Euro) that was gathered from backers in one of the most successful campaigns in the history of the service.

The development team is continuing its partnership with Paradox Interactive when it comes to marketing and publishing duties.

The publisher suggests that it might try its hand at Kickstarter in the coming months, although no details about the potential game that will be crowdfunded have been offered.

The White March for Pillars of Eternity does not have an official launch date and is coming only on the PC.

The new content will be offered for free for some members of the community, who have pledged at the appropriate level when the RPG was first announced.
