Ars is looking for news on all the Nintendo franchises you know and love.

This marks the second year in a row (and the second year ever) that Nintendo has not had a traditional live press conference at E3. Instead, The Big N is once again broadcasting a live "digital event" to Internet users worldwide on the first morning of E3 to show off what it has planned for the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS.

This should be a particularly interesting E3 for Nintendo, considering that cratering Wii U sales have caused the company to hint at a somewhat different direction going forward. That doesn't mean we should expect anything less than a near-complete focus on established franchise players this year, though. That means another new Mario, new Pokemon, and maybe even a Wii U Zelda game to go with already announced 2014 titles like Super Smash Bros... and... let's predict a new F-Zero game, too, just for fun.

There's also word that Mario creator Shigeru Miyamoto may be on hand with a completely new franchise this year, but we're trying not to get our hopes up. Meanwhile, we are still holding out some hope that Nintendo will throw in a sly reference to the Mario Kart 8 Luigi Death Stare meme, but mostly we're afraid Nintendo isn't hip enough to pull such a thing off.
