Ubisoft has revealed the system requirements for the PC version of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, and if you’ve played Origins it should be no surprise that things are looking pretty demanding. Recommended specs are pushing for some serious hardware power just to get to 30fps at 1080p.

Ubisoft says “the PC version is not a port of the console versions of the game, but a tailored experience developed by a dedicated team at Ubisoft Kiev in close collaboration with Ubisoft Québec, the lead studio on Odyssey.” You can expect several features not present in the PlayStation and Xbox versions, including benchmark tools, toggleable dynamic resolution rendering, and uncapped frame rates.

Here are those requirements in full.

Minimum Requirements (720p/30fps/low preset)
OS: Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8.1, Windows 10 (64-bit versions only)
CPU: AMD FX 6300 @ 3.8 GHz, Intel Core i5 2400 @ 3.1 GHz, Ryzen 3 – 1200
GPU: AMD Radeon R9 285 (2GB VRAM with Shader Model 5.0) or NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660

GPU: AMD Radeon R9 290X (4GB VRAM or more with Shader Model 5.0) or better or NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 (4GB)
Memory: 8GB RAM

Recommended Specification (4k/30fps/high preset)
OS: Windows 10 (64-bit versions only)

The Assassin’s Creed Odyssey release date is now less than a month away, so if you’re looking to get your hardware in order there’s not much time left to do so. Of course, the question that’ll be hanging in the air is how much the game’s DRM will affect performance. Plenty of people suspected Origins’ dual-layed copy protection was part of why the game was such a CPU hog – Ubisoft said otherwise – but hopefully those suspicions will prove unfounded here.
