Video game developer id Software and publisher Bethesda are announcing that the Doom beta phase is set to launch on the PXC, the Xbox One, and the PlayStation 4 on March 31. It will last until April 3, allowing gamers to get an early look at the multiplayer side of the first-person shooter.

The testing period will be open to all those who have purchased Wolfenstein: The New Order, and the companies are planning to deliver two modes, the classic Team Deathmatch and the new Warpath, on two maps, Infernal and Heatwave.
The new multiplayer trailer for Doom allows gamers to take a look at the kind of exciting moments the game can deliver, with an emphasis on the speed of the matches and the amount of violence that happens when characters engage in battle.
id Software is introducing a new Doom SnapMap tool to the game, designed to make it simpler for players to put together their maps and even create their own modes that can be easily shared with other players.
The shooter will feature classic experiences like domination, deathmatch and clan arena, but there are also modes that allow players to get a pentagram and then turn into one of the powerful demons of the title and fight other players.
Doom will also feature a single-player campaign The developers have also revealed PC system requirements for those who will be part of the beta. They thus say that the minimum hardware they need includes, at least, Windows 7, Intel Core i7-3770 or better or AMD FX-8350, 8 GB of RAM, Nvidia GeForce GTX 970 or AMD Radeon R9 290 or better as well as 22 GB of free hard drive space.
Doom will also have a single-player campaign that will last for longer than 13 hours and will include some of the classic elements of the franchise.
The developers are aiming to focus the gameplay on speed and momentum, which means there's no health regen, and the game encourages players to constantly push forward and find innovative ways to take out enemies that include the cyberdemon, revenant, and more.
id Software has said that it wants to make sure that the action runs at 1080p and 60 frames per second on all hardware.
Doom will be launched on the PC, the Xbox One from Microsoft, and the PlayStation 4 from Sony on May 13 of this year.
