The developers at Ubisoft working on The Division are announcing that they plan to launch a first big update for the division at some point next week, although the company is not yet ready to offer full details about what kind of new content it plans to include.

Details are set to arrive soon, according to the State of the Game post from the studio, and until then gamers can continue to offer feedback about the mechanics to help the team improve the overall experience.
The fact that Ubisoft is calling this a new update is probably a sign that it will introduce more changes than the company has been making during the weekly maintenance periods, which have been used to nerf some elements of the shooter and improve overall balance.
Presumably, the new content drop for The Division will be introduced while the servers are next down but the exact period has not yet been announced.
In both April and May, Ubisoft is planning to deliver two free major updates for the title, called Incursion and Conflict, which will introduce a new cooperative game mode for high-level groups and will also introduce more features for the Player versus Player focused Dark Zone.
The paid DLC for The Division will start arriving in June, with Underground delivering new zones under New York City to explore and a powerful faction to battle, while Survival is set to add a game mode and The Last Stand is mysterious and planned for early 2017.
Gamers have discovered unfinished game areas Ubisoft has suggested that it is planning to offer access to some new areas of New York after launch and gamers have been able to discover that there are plenty of inaccessible locations in the simulated world of The Division.
They seem to be largely finished, and the free updates might open up new events and other content linked to them, with plenty of fans saying that Central Park would make a great place for a firefight.
Gamers have also been asking for improvements to the Dark Zone mechanics and more variety when it comes to weapons and equipment.
Since The Division was launched, Ubisoft has revealed that the game is the biggest new intellectual property launch in its history and has made clear that it wants to keep gamers engaged with the shooter for as long as possible via both free and paid content.
