It’s now possible to build a performance PC with a tiny footprint thanks to a growing range of mini-ITX motherboards and cases combined with much better cooling solutions. That should make it simple to create am easy-transport gaming rig for LAN parties, but CyberPowerPC is set to offer the ultimate LAN gaming rig in the form of the Fang Battle Box.
When powered off the Fang Battle Box looks like a little black suitcase covered in grills and complete with a carry handle. But add power and it turns into a glowing red gaming PC ready for action.
It’s certainly a bit different, and some would say rather ugly, but if you regularly travel with a PC to LAN gaming parties the Fang Battle Box may be just what you’re after. Inside you’ll find a Core i7-4770K running at 3.5GHz, 16GB of RAM, a GeForce GTX 780Ti, 120GB SSD and 1TB hard drive, and Windows 8.1. Noise is kept to a minimum through the use of a Cooler Master liquid cooling solution.

The Fang Battle Box will appear before the end of the first quarter this year, and CyberPowerPC is promising a range of configurations to choose from. It also looks like the components will be easy to upgrade yourself after purchase. While cramped, the Battle Box opens completely on one side and uses standard components.
Of course, how popular this rig turns out to be will depend on the pricing. It’s sure to carry a premium for the case and cooling system alone, but if CyberPowerPC vary the component options, or maybe even sell a barebones version, it could do well.
