Clash of Clans gets banned in Iran for promoting “violence, tribal wars”
One of the most popular mobile games of all time, Supercell's Clash of Clans has been banned in Iran. The decision shouldn't be surprising since the Iranian government has a long list of services that the country's citizens are not allowed to access for various reasons.
The Iranian media reports the Committee for Determining Instances of Criminal Content (yes, they have that in Iran) has decided to recommend the government to block Clash of Clans after it allegedly received reports from psychologists who explain how the mobile game “promotes violence, tribal war.”
On top of that, the game is “extremely addictive,” so it must be banned as soon as possible. Following the committee's announcement, Iran's Ministry of Justice has decided to limit access to Clash of Clans due to the game being a “clear example of violence through education and the promotion of tribal war.”
Clash of Clans is among the most popular mobile games in Iran, but it's not the first one to have been blocked in Iran and will probably not be the last either. This summer the same committee has decided to ban another popular mobile game, Pokemon GO, because the game uses location-based technology.
It's unclear if this is just a temporary decision, but we won't rule out an overturn in the coming months if for some reason the members of the Committee for Determining Instances of Criminal Content change their minds.

Tribal war is an actual 'thing' in Iran lol. Too close to the bone for them to be comfortable! Most countries dont have a real threat of warlords and tribal violence. Says more about the country than the game
