Video game developer Firaxis and publisher 2K Games are announcing that they are working on a first major patch for Civilization: Beyond Earth, which is set to be launched soon and will include fixes for some of the most reported problems that have been affecting the turn-based strategy title.

In an official site update, the two companies are saying that they are satisfied with the feedback being offered by fans and that they want them to continue to offer information on their experiences and the things they would like to see improved in the long term.

The focus for this first patch for Civilization: Beyond Earth will be on eliminating some crashes linked to the engine and on making sure that previously reported resolution issues linked to 144 hz monitors are solved.

At the same time, Firaxis wants to improve the in-game text and tooltips while also adding a Completed section to all cities, to make it easier for gamers to track their development.

The stability of multiplayer matches for Civilization: Beyond Earth will also be improved and an issue with Steam Achievements is also investigated.

Firaxis adds, “As we have done in the past, we will continue to iterate and address issues after launch as well. Our players’ feedback on balance drives the design team’s goals for the game. We’ll have more information on the balance changes as the design team has a chance to evaluate and implement your feedback.”

At the moment, the first patch does not yet have an official launch window.
Civilization: Beyond Earth will require long-term support

Civilization: Beyond Earth had a solid launch and most gamers did not encounter any issues with the title so far.

Firaxis will be eager to make sure that everyone can play in the long term without any problems and it will then shift resources towards improving balance, which is crucial to the long-term existence of a strategy-focused experience.

The studio has already announced that it will introduce more modding tolls in the coming months in order to make it easier for the community to create unique experiences based on the game engine.

The Steam Workshop already has some interesting new content for the title.

Given the pattern that Firaxis and 2K Games have used for previous Civilization games, it is very probable that a first expansion for Beyond Earth will be announced during 2015, introducing more features to the title.
