People are still playing Bloodborne, which includes fighting through new game plus, discovering new secrets and (most likely) finding new bugs and glitches to make the game easier. From Software’s latest is a great game that the PS4 community has taken a liking too, to the point that it has sold over a million copies since launch. For a new-ish IP, it’s an impressive accomplishment that shows people are willing to show their support for things they like, or try new things.

Despite all that success, though, it’s still hard to ignore the load times, which is one of (if not the) biggest thing against Bloodborne. Devs that have worked on the game have explained that complete resets of the world upon death and hi-res textures are causing the long loads, but even with that knowledge, those 40 or so seconds are still a chore to wait through.

Fortunately, the wait for the upcoming patch that’ll address the load times isn’t too far off. Over on the PlayStation Blog, Sony Computer Entertainment Japan Studio producer Masaaki Yamagiwa revealed that the 1.03 update should release before the end of April, but they’re hoping to have a more definitive date soon.

“As we confirmed previously, the 1.03 update seeks to reduce certain load times in addition to performance optimizations. The patch also resolves an issue that resulted in abnormal game behavior after many continuous hours of play. Additional fixes will be included as well.

“We’re continuing to monitor popular communities and forums for feedback, in addition to the comments below, so please share any other issues or questions you may have. On behalf of the Bloodborne development team, thank you for your ongoing passion and support.”

Some players have also been reporting network issues that prevent them from using the game’s online features. Notes and Specters are pretty useful for people traveling throughout Bloodborne’s brutal (yet fair) world, but they’ve only visible when playing online. Having to play without those ultimately takes away from the overall experience. Never mind the fact that a well placed note, or watching how another player died, can save someone from dying against a tough foe and sitting through another loading screen.

For those out there that are running into network problems, the PS Blog covers that too. Just head to Settings, Network, View Connection Status, NAT Type, and change it from Type 3 to one of the previous ones. Apparently, some online functions don’t make nice with NAT Type 3.
