JAYNE Torvill and Christopher Dean's life stories will be brought to TV in a show-stopping biopic packed with enough drama to rival their 1984 Bolero routine.

But when will it actually air on TV and who is in the cast? Here's all you need to know...

When will the Torvill and Dean biopic air on TV?
The special will air on ITV on Christmas Day (Tuesday, December 25).

It will be on your screens at 9.15 pm and last for two hours.

This will be the perfect way to get in the mood for Dancing on Ice which returns in 2019.

It's written by William Ivory who also penned Made In Dagenham.

ITV has promised “a single film narrating Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean’s early years and the creative impetus that finally drove them to become ice dancing royalty.”

What is the Torvill and Dean biopic all about?
The drama will portray how Torvill and Dean became global ice skating champions.

ITV said: "We’ll learn about their humble beginnings and family life in Nottingham; how Chris, following the breakup of his parents’ marriage, channeled his anger into skating and how Jayne, was outwardly reserved and determined to explore her inwardly passionate nature.

“We explore how Chris and Jayne clashed as they separately and together tried to establish a new language for ice dance – one which won gold medals but also spoke to their private, intense relationship.”

The highlight of the film is likely to be the moment that the pair won gold for their Bolero routine at the 1984 Winter Olympics.

The cast announced so far is...

Will Tudor as Christopher Dean
Poppy Lee Friar as Jayne Torvill
Anita Dobson as Miss Perry, Jayne's first skating coach
Stephen Tompkinson as Jayne's dad George
Jo Hartley as Jayne's mum Betty
Dean Andrews as Chris' dad Colin
Christine Bottomley as Chris' mum Mavis
Jaime Winstone as Janet Sawbridge, the instructor who first paired Chris and Jayne

When did Torvill and Dean win the Winter Olympic gold?
It has been over 30 years since the world’s most famous ice skating duo stunned the crowds and took home an Olympic gold.

Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean got a perfect score from the judges in 1984 on Valentine’s Day when they performed Ravel’s Bolero at the Sarajevo Winter Olympics.

They received 12 perfect scores of 6.0, with sixes from all nine judges for artistic impression – a feat which had never been seen before.
