The comedy fest also revealed that Hannah Gadsby of Netflix's 'Nanette' and 'Rel' star Lil Rel Howery will receive awards.

Tiffany Haddish will receive the comedy person of the year award at the upcoming Just for Laughs festival, while Jo Koy will pick up the stand-up comedian of the year trophy at the Montreal yuk fest, organizers said Monday.

Haddish, who has risen quickly from struggling stand-up to A-list Hollywood actress over the past year, will be honored at the Just for Laughs comedy conference July 27. The Girls Trip star will also host a gala and perform in Montreal.

And Koy, who is bringing his Break the Mold Tour to Montreal for a July 28 performance, will also be feted at Just for Laughs, as will Lil Rel Howery, star of Fox's upcoming sitcom Rel, as breakout comedy star of the year.

The Just for Laughs comedy conference, to run July 25-28, will also honor Hannah Gadsby's Nanette on Netflix as comedy special of the year, and Liz Flahive and Carly Mensch, co-creators of Netflix's GLOW, will receive a comedy writers of the year tribute.

Alonzo Bodden will host the 11th annual Just for Laugh awards show at the Hyatt Regency Montreal. The 2018 Just for Laughs Comedy Festival, to run July 11-29, will be headlined by Tiffany Haddish, Kevin Hart and Trevor Noah.
