Picard Trailer Reveals High Stakes For Final Season

Jean-Luc Picard is set to engage on one last adventure in Star Trek: Picard season 3. The new trailer is wrought with emotional moments, discussions of death and destiny, and the potential for grave circumstances for Starfleet and the entire Federation. A coming threat could have its sights set on Starfleet, and it looks like those threats will come from inside and outside the crew. There’s a level of intrigue and mystery that accompanies the final season of Star Trek: Picard. With Starfleet under attack, Beverly Crusher advises Jean-Luc not to trust anyone in the trailer, which sets the expectations for a final season full of high stakes.

Picard series regulars Stewart, Jeri Ryan, and Michelle Hurd return in season 3 for their normal roles. Spiner will also pick up his role as Lore, a prototype of Star Trek: The Next Generation’s android officer, Data. An exciting new addition to the cast is Amanda Plummer. The Pulp Fiction star appears to be playing a new villain by the name of Vadic. It may be her character that brings down the chaos and destruction that is teased in the trailer, but it could get even worse for the crew. The trailer's shots and editing suggest that threats inside Starfleet could arise at the hands of Speleers' new character. Speleers is set to play a member of Crusher's medical staff, but now he appears to have ulterior motives.

The Star Trek: Picard final season trailer is full of teases for what should be an epic and large-scale season 3 for the series. A lot is riding on the show sticking the landing, as well, with Jean-Luc perhaps acting as the most iconic character in the franchise. Star Trek: Picard season 3 will be the last ride for the show, and potentially for Stewart in his legendary role. With familiar faces from Picard’s life returning, season 3 should be a particularly emotional final installment. Star Trek: Picard season 3 premieres on Paramount+ on February 13, and episodes will stream every Thursday.
