A batch of colorful Solo: A Star Wars Story character posters are released online as Lucasfilm continues to rev up the marketing machine for the spinoff. After giving The Last Jedi its moment in the spotlight, the studio is finally ready to turn their attention to this year’s blockbuster. Between a production process that made Justice League look like a walk in the park and a perceived marketing delay, moviegoers have grown weary about the movie’s prospects, putting the onus on Lucasfilm’s advertising department to sway public opinion.

Viewers got their first look at Solo in a television spot during last night’s Super Bowl, followed by the full trailer today. Showing off Alden Ehrenreich’s Han and establishing the tone of a fun adventure film, the footage calmed some nerves, but there’s still plenty of work left to be done on the campaign. Now that the theatrical preview is out, it’s time for the first wave of posters to come out.

Unveiled by Lucasfilm, the collection consists of four one-sheets highlighting a different character in each. Han, Lando Calrissian, Chewbacca, and Emilia Clarke’s Qi’Ra are the ones featured.

The posters are similar in design, placing the character’s name in bold font front and center. Inside the stylized wording, the character spotlighted strikes an action pose against a backdrop of one of the film’s locations. Toy leaks have indicated we will travel to planets Corellia, Kessel, and Mimban in Solo, but it’s difficult to say if those are indeed the ones featured on the posters. So little is known about worlds at this point in time. Given that Han hails from Corellia, the safe money would be on the smuggler being paired with his home planet, but the others don’t have any obvious connections. The Chewie poster may include Kessel, as it’s possible the Wookiee was a slave in the spice mines Han helped free. Based on canon novels, we know the two helped each other out of rough spots.

With just three months to go until Solo is released, Lucasfilm is just getting started with promotion. If their history is anything to go by, we’re about to be hit by an all-out blitz that serves the double function of raising awareness and hyping up die-hard fans. Time will tell how the film’s story turns out, but thanks to Bradford Young’s stunning cinematography and these eye-catching posters, the tide is beginning to turn. Maybe Solo will be all right after all.
