Tina Fey and Amy Poehler have now hosted the annual Golden Globes ceremony for the third and final time, but the comedic duo will reunite onscreen later this year in the film Sisters (formerly titled The Nest). The project doesn’t arrive in theaters until December, but Universal (unsurprisingly) took advantage of the movie’s stars being in the spotlight to premiere the first Sisters footage - which is featured above - during the 2015 Globes show (in case you missed it, here’s the full list of Globes winners).

Fey and Poehler headline Sisters as a pair of estranged siblings who, upon learning their parents (James Brolin and Dianne Wiest) are selling their childhood house, decide to throw one last bash at the family home, inviting their former high school classmates to join in the fun. It probably helps that their ex-schoolmates in the film are played by such folk as Maya Rudolph (Inherent Vice), John Leguizamo (John Wick), and Renée Elise Goldsberry (The Good Wife).

Sisters was scripted by longtime SNL contributor Paula Pell and directed by Jason Moore (Pitch Perfect), so there’s well-established talent working on both sides of the camera on this one. The film certainly has the potential to be one of the better (and funnier) additions to the “adults behaving badly” sub-genre of comedy that actors like Will Ferrell and Vince Vaughn have excelled at in the past. Not to mention, as Fey and Poehler proved with Baby Mama in 2008, their chemistry extends to both the small and big screen.

Whereas other party comedies like Neighbors examine their characters’ anxieties about leaving their days of cutting loose behind them, Sisters (by the sound of it) will take a different, and hopefully more refreshing approach to the subject of grown-ups partying hard; as Fey pointed out to EW that “People our age need a hardcore house party more than a 17-year-old. What are *they* cutting loose from?” And in the same article, Poehler also joked about the film opening opposite Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens, saying “We are going to f***ing crush Star Wars.”

Poehler, in addition to being done as a Golden Globes co-host, will also bid farewell to her Golden Globe-winning role on the TV series Parks and Recreation, which begins its final season this week. Fey and Poehler have already gotten strong notices for their final Globes stint, so fingers crossed Sisters will finish off a big year for both of them on a high note.

Sisters opens in U.S. theaters on December 18th, 2015.
