Simon Pegg is set to reprise his role as Benji Dunn in the forthcoming Mission: Impossible 5.

Set for a Stateside release on Christmas Day 2015, with a British release date yet to be announced, Pegg confirmed to MTV that he would be appearing in the new movie as the technician, saying: "Yes, absolutely. I'm looking forward to that. I've already started eating one carrot a day in order to be in shape."

The film will be directed by Christopher McQuarrie and will again see Tom Cruise playing secret agent Ethan Hunt. The script was written by Drew Pearce, who was also behind Iron Man 3.

Meanwhile, Simon Pegg recently scotched hopes that he might one day revive his classic sitcom Spaced. Speaking at San Diego Comic-Con over the summer, he said: "We wanted to do a third series back in the day but it didn't work out. It was no-one's fault, just timing. I don't think it's going to happen again."
