One of the many mutants that will be appearing next year in X-Men: Apocalypse is fan favorite Psylocke, played by The Newsroom’s Olivia Munn. Aside from last night’s revelation that Psylocke will be one of Apocalypse’s Four Horsemen, little is known about what to expect from the character, but Munn has been hard at work preparing for the role. In addition to practicing Psylocke’s trademark swordplay, Munn teased what her costume (or at least a prototype of it) will look like three months ago, and now she’s revealed how hard it is to squeeze into the outfit each time.

While appearing on the talk show Conan Saturday night with several of her X-Men: Apocalypse cast-mates, Munn confirmed that Psylocke’s big screen look will look almost exactly like her comic book counterpart’s, minus the physical emphasis on the breast and butt areas. Her costar James McAvoy then pointed out there is a lot of lubrication involved getting her into the costume with help from several women. Here’s how Munn described it:

They lube me down and I step into this latex. We did a whole latex fitting.

This statement led to the eponymous host "blacking out," dizzy from the juicy details. You can look at the picture below to get an idea of what Munn’s Psylocke will look like in the 2016 blockbuster, complete with purple hair.

The actress went on to recount her first time trying on the costume. Being really excited to be working with McAvoy, Michael Fassbender and the rest of the cast, she wanted to make a good impression. Unfortunately, things didn’t go as planned. According to her:

…I was just so excited, and then I went ‘Okay, I want to do a really good job,’ and I just popped the crotch.

Once again, Munn’s details led to awkward looks and smiles from O’Brien and her cast-mates. One of the stars even joked that the scene made it into the film. That latex costume popping in the crotch…just try to get that image out of your mind. One would imagine they had to make several of these outfits as replacements if they can snap so easily. You can can catch the full Conan clip below, including commentary from Munn’s fellow actors and O’Brien’s sidekick Andy Richter.
