A new trailer for Divergent, the forthcoming sci-fi film starring Shailene Woodley and Kate Winslet, has been released. Watch it below.

The film is based on a young adult novel of the same by Veronica Roth that's drawn comparisons to Suzanne Collins's The Hunger Games, and it's clear from the trailer that Divergent is targeting a similar audience to the hit franchise starring Jennifer Lawrence.

Directed by Neil Burger (Limitless), Divergent is set in a futuristic version of Chicago where citizens are divided into five factions based on their personality types: the Selfless, the Honest, the Brave, the Intelligent and the Peaceful.

However, Woodley's character Tris is informed that she is "Divergent" - a person who doesn't fit into any faction - and soon uncovers a plan to wipe out anyone like her who doesn't slot into the system.

Winslet plays the film's main villain, a high IQ leader on a mission to wipe out the Divergents, and the ensemble cast also includes Jai Courtney, Maggie Q, Ashley Judd and Bedlam's Theo James. Divergent opens in UK and US cinemas on March 21, 2014.
