Legends of Tomorrow Save Young Barack Obama in New Trailer
There is no denying that DC’s Legends of Tomorrow has featured some pretty famous faces, but the upcoming seventeenth episode of season 3 will showcase Barack Obama.
As well as including the likes of DC favorites John Constantine and Jonah Hex, Legends is known for taking inspiration from real life. After the show has already included a meta take on saving Elvis Presley, the 44th President of the United States will make himself known in the penultimate episode. Ironically titled, “Guest Starring John Noble,” the episode will also feature sci-fi legend John Noble – playing himself.
Audiences have known for a while that young Obama would appear in Legends of Tomorrow, but details have now become slightly clearer. The CW has released a promo for “Episode 17,” which is sure to put events in play for the April 9 season finale:
As the promo shows, the team will be split up into their own factions. Heading to find a college-aged Obama at Occidental College in the 1970s, Sara and Rip hot on the heels of a returning Gorilla Grodd and his time-hopping mission of hate. The young Obama is seen crossing paths with the grizzly gorilla, who is pretty angry at the future POTUS. While Grodd’s mission is presumably to change the course of history by offing Obama, fans will have to wait and see how Barack plays into the episode. However, with jokes about the team being on “Obama care” and “Make America Grodd again,” expect there to be plenty of political puns.
Elsewhere, Nate and Wally team up to stop Amaya meddling with the future while the whole team is forced to form an uneasy alliance with Neal McDonough’s Damien Dahrk. It appears to be an action-packed move towards the end of the season, but let’s not forget what the title of the episode really means. With Noble having voiced the villainous Mallus all season, the appearance of the actor playing himself puts another big question mark over the episode.
With everyone still reeling from that big Ava reveal and Rip’s sinister motives, fans are still left wondering how all the various storylines will come together with just two hours left of season 3. However, even if the heroes on Mallus as the big bad before the finale, “Guest Starring John Noble” looks to be having a bit of fun before Legends gets there. As a big superhero fan – and having appeared in the likes of Suicide Squad comics – will Obama himself be tuning in on April 2?

And THAT is why I won't watch the show. To each their own...
