Krysten Ritter, star of NBC’s midseason comedy Mission Control, has teamed with the series’ writer-producer Maggie Bandur for another single-camera comedy project at NBC, Back On The Farm. Based on an idea by Ritter and written by Bandur, the comedy is described as “Overboard meets Sweet Home Alabama” and centers on a Hollywood actress whose life suddenly implodes, forcing her to move back to her family’s farm.

Universal Television is producing with Krysten’s Silent Machine Entertainment, which has a first-look look with the studio. Silent Machine’s Ritter and Lindsey Liberatore executive produce.

Bandur, whose credits also include Community and Malcolm In The Middle, is repped by UTA and Jared Levine. In its first selling season at Uni TV last season, Silent Machine set up three projects at NBC.

Ritter previously executive produced Cassandra French’s Finishing School For Boys, which went to pilot at MTV. The actress, who will next be seen in Tim Burton’s Big Eyes, is with WME, The Group Entertainment, and Sanders Armstrong Caserta Management.
