Buyers were out in force on Sundance's opening night as the film made its world premiere at the Eccles Theatre in January, with Endeavor and Cornerstone Films negotiating the deal and additional funding provided by Rock Island Films.

The film, which also stars Billy Crudup, has the bonus of being based on a Danish Oscar-nominated film of the same name by Susanne Bier, whose work is red hot thanks to Netflix's Bird Box.

Joel B. Michaels, Harry Finkel, Moore, Freundlich and Silvio Muraglia produced.

"I’ve known Michael [Barker] and Tom [Bernard] for 23 years when we worked together on my first film, The Myth of Fingerprints. They have impeccable taste, so it is very exciting, and great vote of confidence that they believe so whole heartedly in After the Wedding," Freundlich said in a statement.
