The adorable green builders from Fraggle Rock are back!
Hulu on Monday announced it has picked up exclusive U.S. rights for Jim Henson's Doozers. The animated preschool series, which includes 52 11-minute episodes, debuts on Hulu Plus Friday, April 25.
Inspired by the popular characters from Fraggle Rock, the series encourages children to design and create, and aligns with the STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, math) initiative.
Viewers will be introduced to the so-called "Pod Squad" — Spike, Molly Bolt, Flex, and Daisy Wheel — who stand just 3 inches tall, but are bursting with ideas and energy. The four Doozer kids live in the fantastical and eco-friendly Doozer Creek, and take on challenges such as designing a derby racing car, flying in a kaleidoscope of butterflies, or building a giant gingerbread house.

"The series encourages kids to embrace their own creativity," Lisa Henson, CEO of The Jim Henson Company, said in a statement. "Inspired by a whole new group of whimsical characters our viewers will want to design, tinker and experiment with their own ideas while learning to have confidence and resilience to reach their goals."
Doozers is the first original series the TV streaming company has picked up for Hulu Kids, its ad-free hub for children, which also features favorites like Fraggle Rock, Pokemon, SpongeBob SquarePants, Thomas and Friends, and Caillou.
"Doozers put their ideas into action and change their dreams into reality," Hulu said. "The series celebrates the spirit of being an innovator and inspires all kids to have an 'I can do it' attitude."
Hulu is not the only streaming service experimenting with original content. Amazon is asking its user to vote on their favorite TV drama pilots; check them out in the slideshow above.
