James Wan's Fast & Furious 7 has been in production for quite a while now - going back to before Paul Walker's death - but amazingly the film still isn't done adding names to its all star roster. The ensemble film already stars Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Lucas Black, and Walker along with newcomers Kurt Russell and Jason Statham, and now word has come down that musician Romeo Santos has enlisted as well.

The news of the casting comes from Deadline, but sadly they don't provide any information in the way of what role Santos will be playing in movie. Part of that may stem from the fact that we still know very little about the film's plot. Penned by Chris Morgan, who has written every sequel in the Fast and Furious franchise since Fast and Furious: Tokyo Drift, the new film sees Ian Shaw (Statham) - brother of the villainous Owen Shaw (Luke Evans) from Fast & Furious 6 - looking to get revenge for the death of his sibling... but we don't really much more about it beyond that.

Weirdly enough, the announcement was actually made when Vin Diesel joined Romeo Santos on stage during a concert this past week. The singer was performing a sold out show at the Staples Center in Los Angeles when he was joined by Vin Diesel at the microphone. You can watch the reveal below thanks to a fan in the crowd who was filming the moment:

Santos doesn't actually have any acting experience, though he does have some previous connection to the film industry: his song "Mi Corazoncito" was used in the film Blue Is The Warmest Color last year. That said, given how late in the process his casting is being announced, I wouldn't be surprised if his role is pretty small. Deadline notes that one thing Santos has in common with Vin Diesel is a seriously big social media following. The musician has two million followers on Twitter and 19 million Facebook followers (though that number is nothing next to Diesel's 76 million Facebook fans).

Fast & Furious 7 reentered production at the end of March and is currently on schedule to be released on April 10, 2015. With the exception of photos and videos that come out via social media, it's probable that we won't really see anything official from the film until much later in the year. .
