Actress Emilia Clarke has gotten new dragon tattoos to commemorate the end of the popular television show Game of Thrones. Clarke plays the character Daenerys Targaryen a.k.a. the Mother of Dragons in the HBO program, which will be airing the final season of Game of Thrones in 2019.

Clarke's acting career has blown up since she was cast in the first season of Game of Thrones. Clarke has been in the show since the beginning and starred in 56 of the 67 episodes that have been released. Her character has undergone drastic character developments in the last seven seasons, going from someone who was treated as property to one of the most powerful figures in Westeros and of course, the Mother of Dragons. Both the TV show and the books by George R.R. Martin are notorious for killing characters off as soon as viewers/readers begin to like them, but Daenerys has thankfully been given a proper character arc. Now that her story is coming to an end, Clarke has decided to get a tattoo to celebrate the show and her dragons.

Posting on Instagram, Clarke shared a photo of herself holding up her right arm to show off her new wrist tattoo. Her character's three dragons - Drogon, Rhaegal, and Viserion - can be seen on her wrist and Clarke looks truly thrilled her new ink. She even captioned the photo, "MOD 4 LYFE!!! made sure this mamma ain’t NEVER forgetting her babies....".

With a show as big as Game of Thrones, it's not uncommon for celebrities to get tattoos to celebrate their experiences. Sophie Turner also got a tattoo of a direwolf with the quote "The pack survives," leading many to believe that the Starks would all survive the final season and even rule the Iron Throne. Game of Thrones cast members aren't the only ones to get celebratory tattoos either. The cast of The Avengers all got matching Avengers tattoos to celebrate the success of Avengers: Infinity War back in May.

Even though some may think Turner's tattoo or even Maisie Williams' Instagram have spoiled the final season, HBO has been working hard to keep the ending of the show a secret and have even made sure Game of Thrones season 8 scripts vanish after filming has ended. While fans may have to wait a bit longer to figure out how Game of Thrones will conclude, Clarke has filmed her final scene for the show and is moving on to the next chapter in her acting career.

Game of Thrones season 8 premieres sometime in 2019.
