The Sarah Jessica Parker comedy will be back with a third showrunner.

HBO is not breaking up with Divorce.

The premium cable network has renewed the Sarah Jessica Parker comedy for a third season following a lengthy negotiation process. The series will resume production in early 2019.

Season three of the comedy will consist of six episodes — its lowest tally yet. That's down from 10 and eight in seasons one and two, respectively. Season three will feature the show's third different showrunner, as Liz Tuccillo will take over for Jenny Bicks, who replaced Paul Simms. Simms exited after season one, citing creative differences.

Parker stars and exec produces alongside creator Sharon Horgan. Bicks will remain on board as a writer and exec producer. Alison Benson and Aaron Kaplan also exec produce.

Becki Newton will return as a series regular in season three, joining a cast that also includes Thomas Haden Church, Molly Shannon, Talia Balsam, Tracy Letts, Sterling Jerins and Charlie Kilgore.

The pickup comes eight months after Divorce wrapped its second season on HBO. The network, which is under a mandate to increase its original programming output from new corporate parent AT&T, opened a writers room for a potential third season in the summer.

Divorce arrives as HBO is poised to say farewell to its award-winning comedy, Veep, in 2019. HBO's comedy slate also includes Ballers, Barry, Crashing, Insecure, Room 104, Silicon Valley and more.
