With the Digital HD release of Deadpool 2 a few weeks ago, and the Blu-ray and DVD debuting today, the timing is perfect for a new Honest Trailer. The Deadpool Digital HD release was full of goodies, from the Super-Duper Cut that included 15 minutes of extra footage not seen in theaters, to director's commentary and even a brand new post-credit scene. Now that fans have delved through all of the bonus footage and special features, the Honest Trailer has arrived to put this foul-mouthed sequel in its place, so to speak.

You may recall that, around two years ago, when the Screen Junkies team put together the Honest Trailer for the original Deadpool, there was even an appearance from the Merc With the Mouth (Ryan Reynolds) himself. Given how "meta" Deadpool is in the movie, and how Reynolds has no problem whatsoever making fun of himself, or his wife, or anyone really, it's not surprising that Reynolds is back for seconds, so to speak. This time, much like Deadpool 2 itself, the Honest Trailer sequel gets taken up a notch, and takes a deep-dive into meta hilarity.

The above Honest Trailer (via Screen Junkies) starts out in its usually snarky fashion, with narrator Jon Bailey poking fun at the fact that this fun sequel hit theaters three weeks after a funeral, i.e. Avengers: Infinity War. But, before the narrator can really dive deep into the sequel, DP himself chimes in, accurately guessing what aspects of Deadpool 2 Bailey would try to poke fun at, including the Disney merger, T.J. Miller and, "pretending to give a s--t about Shatterstar." DP then goes on to wonder why they're even doing this at all (a sound argument, given how critically and financially successful the film was), instead imploring Bailey to, "rip Coco a new one." When Bailey refuses to comply, DP then proceeds to make his own Honest Trailer, for Honest Trailers.

The remainder of the video proceeds to trash Honest Trailers, including their opening segment where they show some of the fans who have wanted them to rip on a particular movie, while also poking fun at YouTube movie stalwarts like Red Letter Media, Mr. Sunday Movies and the React channel, as Reynolds himself asks for an Honest Trailer on The Proposal. The Merc then bashes the numerous different owners of Screen Junkies, while stating that they peaked with Frozen and that all they do is find one logic hole and pretend like it ruined the whole movie. It's always been clear that Reynolds has a good sense of humor about himself, and, in allowing the Merc to roast them, it seems the Honest Trailers crew can take it as well as they can dish it out.

One of the big reasons both Deadpool movies were such big box office hits was that neither one took itself too seriously, and the fact that Reynolds would take time to appear in his own Honest Trailer (twice) only adds to the fun. It's hard to imagine anyone in the MCU or the DCEU actually taking time to skewer themselves in the name of fun in an Honest Trailer (well, maybe Robert Downey Jr.), which is one of the reasons why the Merc is so special.
