With the premiere of Better Call Saul only a short three months away, all eyes are now turning to AMC and its upcoming Breaking Bad prequel. But how good can a series meant to be a spin-off to a multiple Emmy winner really be? Well, thanks to AMC, there’s a new video going around that hopes to at least partially answer that question.

It’s hard to argue against the statement Breaking Bad is one of television’s all-time greatest series. The journey of Walter White and his dissent into madness was a cautionary tale of power, greed and knowing when it’s time to stop.

However, what made Breaking Bad great had more to do than just with the mastery of Vince Gilligan’s writing and Bryan Cranston’s acting. Something that also made the series click was its fantastic crew. This is one of the reasons why when AMC announced its plans for a spin-off focused on Heisenberg’s corrupt lawyer in Better Call Saul, many were worried the same sense of mastery would be absent.

However, a TV show is the sum of its parts, and it appears many of the ones that made Breaking Bad a power-house are in attendance for Better Call Saul. From costume designers to producers, if you had a hand in the adventures of Walter White, you’ll have a hand in the early days of one Saul Goodman as well.

There are many ways the AMC spin-off could go, but with any luck, the way it will turn out will hopefully be similar to the way Joss Whedon once described the year he was working on Buffy, Angel and Firefly all at once. Because everyone expected him to drop the ball elsewhere, he worked thrice as hard to make sure he didn’t. That’s the kind of fire we want to see lit under the Better Call Saul crew. If this series can pull off the challenge of being great, in and of itself, what viewers are going to be left with is the long-awaited new hit for AMC.

But, regardless of what ultimately comes of the show, it’s going to be nice to see some familiar faces onscreen again, especially Mike Ehrmantraut, because there’s no such thing as too much Mike. Also, perhaps we’ll finally get our answer to the most pressing question of our time: whatever became of Huell?

Better Call Saul premieres February 2015 on AMC.
