TPB Could Freely Run Servers In Antigua; KAT Maybe Back For Good

The Pirate Bay, Kickass Torrents Update: TPB seems to run new servers in Caribbean region Antigua while KAT has resurrected from the dead.

The Pirate Bay has been experiencing a lot of challenges recently as the authorities in US are doubling its effort for the anti-piracy campaign. With this, it seems that the famous torrent site will run servers in Caribbean region Antigua. Meanwhile, KickAss Torrents which has shut down for some period of time has resurrected and is back for good.

According to International Business Times, The Pirate Bay might end 2017 moving to a Caribbean region named Antigua since it has received protection from numerous strict anti-piracy and anti-copyright-violation laws. With this, it seems that TBP and its domains will not shut down anymore.
Based on some reports, it was predicted that after nearly 14 years, The Pirate Bay will drop its treasured .org domain name. A few months from now copyright holders will release a court case and acquire an order against the US-based Public Interest Registry (PIR). Previously, PIR resisted a voluntary deferral but soon it will be enforced to seize the domain by court order.

Additionally, with the Swedish .SE domain also in danger, The Pirate Bay will send a special representative to Antigua and Barbuda to request virtual asylum in the Caribbean. This seems to be a brilliant match since Antigua and Barbuda is still involved in a long-running clash with the US. It was also noted that Caribbean nation has already threatened to lift the protection of US intellectual property rights in 2017, as a matter of fact, it has an idea of creating its own pirate site.

On the other hand, iTechPost stated on its article that the original staffs of KickAss Torrents which is also called KATcr, have brought life to the site again. With this, the KATcr is anticipating that it can conquer future shutdowns.

Although, the look and feel of the new site is similar with the old one, it flaunts a DMCA takedown process. A staff stated that this takedown procedure is same as YouTube's, stating that they do not actually store any copyrighted material on their servers. Also the staff toughly said that KickAss Torrents is a community-based forum and torrent search engine, adding that torrents are not illegal.

With The Pirate Bay predicted to move it servers in a Caribbean region this might be a benefit as the place is protected from anti-piracy law. Moreover, a lot of uploaders in KickAss Torrents has started uploading videos and other contents which its subscribers will definitely enjoy.
