Disney has claimed victory over an infringing domain owner in a UDRP dispute.

The house of mouse claimed ownership of movies-disney.com, which was registered by Milen Radumilo.

The disputed domain name redirects users to a page that offers ‘ pirated versions of Disney movies. Radumilo had also been using the domain to download malware onto unsuspecting user’s computers, then using a phishing scam in an attempt to divulge personal information.

Sole panellist Bruce Meyerson found that the domain name was confusingly similar to Disney’s name. Meyerson also found that that Radumilo lacked rights and legitimate interests in the use of the disputed domain, and its use is in bad faith.

Meyerson said that “[Radumilo] uses the domain name to phish for information from consumers”, proving that a he lacked rights and legitimate interests.”

Meyerson added “[Disney] provides a screenshot of the resolving website, which displays numerous copies of [its] media, which [it] alleges are pirated versions.”

Meyerson concluded that the disputed domain name should be transferred to Disney.
