    Explanation of symbols:
? -this designates one "wildcard" space.
    * -this designates multiple "wildcard" spaces.
    | -this means "or"

For example, if you are only interested in x264 rips of The Daily Show with Jon Stewart you would use the following in the "Filter."

    the?daily?show*x264*
The ?'s will ignore that space, in case it is a " " or a "-" or most likely a "."
The first * will ignore anything until it finds the string x264
The second * will ignore anything after the string x264

So if you want the Dimension release of The Office you would use:
    the?office*dimension*

The Not line is anything you do NOT want to download, and where you will need the "|"

For instance, I do not have a lot of space yet so for shows that I download daily I use the lower quality rips. I don't want the x264 rips, the 720p rips or any 1080p rips. I also have no use for any portable rips. So my filter will look like this.

    Filter: conan*
    Not: *x264*|*720p*|*1080*|*portable*
