With more and more trackers becoming ratioless, the ultimate debate begins, which is better for the tracker and ultimately the user? We list the pros and cons of both the ratio and ratioless system.

Ratio:

Pros: (Positives)


* Can use your seedbox.
* Bragging rights icon smile Ratio vs Ratioless trackers
* Smaller files will be seeded longer.
* Usually larger trackers.
* Trackers usually have a better bonus system.


Cons: (Negatives)

* Should have Seedbox
* Difficult when starting on a tracker.
* Need a fast Upload connection.
* Need to seed torrents with lots of leechers (to increase ratio faster).
* Cannot grab too many files too fast (or your ratio will go down in the beginning).


Ratioless

Pros: (Positives)


* Do not need a seedbox.
* Do not need a fast connection.
* Download is not counted, only upload is.
* Easy to start off with a new tracker.


Cons: (Negatives)


* Usually smaller trackers.
* Older files are usually discarded faster.
* No bragging rights.
* Hit and Run: Need to seed for a considerable amount of time.
* Need to have your computer running for a long time to avoid Hit and Run.
