How use block and unsubscribe on Android
If your Gmail inbox has turned into a daily chore of deleting messages from people or companies, then it might be time to start using the Block or Unsubscribe features. As of Tuesday, the Block feature became available on both the Web and Android versions of Gmail, with Unsubscribe only available on the Web and still rolling out on mobile. These features will allow you to take action without needing to be at your desk. Let's get started:
Unsubscribe
Still getting email from a hotel or website you haven't visited in a few years? If you've still got an account with them, but don't want to hear about their promotions, you can use the unsubscribe to request that you be removed from their list.
Press the three dots next to the mark as unread icon (envelope icon).
Choose Unsubscribe from the menu.
Block
This feature will prevent any email from the sender appearing in your inbox. It's best used for avoiding annoying people or companies that won't honor your unsubscribe requests.
Tap the three dots next to the reply arrow.
Choose Block "[Sender name]" from the menu.
