To make the address secure, you will actually use two email addresses.

One “public”, where all emails will be sent, and one “private” where those will arive.

Example explanation:

Website Newsletter –> Public email –> Private email

To do this, first we need to create the public one (that will forward all the emails to the private).

Find a service that provide email forwarding.

I recommend you to use Gmail.

You will use this account for forwarding.

Sign-up at Gmail, use a strong password.

When you done, you will have an email address like

john.smith@gmail.com (example)

You need one more email account. You can use Yahoo! Mail

Make sure you enter a different username and password than at Gmail.

So that would be:

john8538853priv@yahoo.com (example)

When you done that, then you have to set up the email forwarding at Gmail.

Here’s how to do that:
1. Click Settings at the top of any Gmail page, and open the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab.
2. From the ‘Add email address” drop-down menu in the Forwarding section, select ‘Add new email address.‘
3. Enter your @yahoo email.
4. You will get a verification email to your @yahoo email.
Open your forwarding email account, and find the confirmation message from the Gmail team.
5. Click the verification link in that email.
6. Back in your Gmail account, select the ‘Forward a copy of incoming mail to…’ option and select your forwarding address from the drop-down menu.
Select the action you’d like your messages to take from the drop-down menu. 7. You can choose to keep Gmail’s copy of the message in your inbox, or you can send it automatically to All Mail or Trash (choose delete gmail’s copy).
8. Click Save Changes.

Now, you have a secured email. When you sign-up somewhere, always enter the @gmail email. Make sure that you don’t give the @yahoo email to anyone!

When you wan’t to check your email, you have to log in at www.mail.yahoo.com
