In general clearing up the cache on your computer is one of the easiest ways to speed up your system. Doing this can delete temporary files, frees up space, and helps your system to run smoother. Having said that, finding a different cache in Windows is bit trickier. However, to make your life easy, we have compiled steps to do it without any hassle.

With the Windows Creator updates, it has an inbuilt feature that lets you free up space where it will clear up Recycle Bin in 30 days, and App data as well which is not used. For this:

Step 1: Go to Settings > Storage

Step 2: Turns on the toggle for automatically clean up space.

Step 3: Now just follow the link that says 'Change How we free up space'

Step 4: Now you will get options including delete temporary files that my apps aren’t using, delete files that have been in the recycle bin for over 30 days. Moreover, you can also do it manually by clicking on Click Now button.

Clearing Temp File Cache

In Windows, there is system directory, where all the system's temporary files will be stored. These have temporary data which programs need for a short span of time. In order to clean it Click start and head on to Disk Cleanup application.

Launch the application and select the drive on the Windows that you want to clear. Now check on the temporary files tab and unmark all and click ok.

Clearing Windows Store Cache

If you download anything from the Windows Stores, caches are formed which takes up a lot of disk space. Some times it also interrupts the download process or even stop due to lack of storage. In order to clear it there is a utility option that in a system called WSReset.exe that enables you to clean all caches.

Click Windows key + R key on the keyboard together, to open Run, then type WSReset.exe on the box and click OK or press Enter.

Clearing System Restore Cache

When your computer might fail to work this restore option always comes handy. Usually, it helps to restore everything in the system that has been lost. That doesn't mean, you should have the cache file in your system. In order to clean it, open the Start menu and search for the System application.

Open it and click on System Protection -> select drive -> Configure. There you will find Delete option to erase all the restore cache files.

Web Browser Cache

While browsing the web, caches are a very common issue whoever access the internet. But here, in this case, the clearing cache depends upon the browser. If you are using Google Chrome: Settings -> Advanced settings, now under Privacy Settings click on the Clear Browsing Data. Now select the Cache Images & Files option.

If you are using Mozilla Firefox: Settings ->Advanced section ->Network tab ->Clear Now. Choose the option 'Cached Web Content'.

Thumbnail Cache

To clean thumbnail cache, Click on Start menu -> Disk Cleanup app. Now select the system's drive, and wait till it analyses the system file. Once it's done just check the Thumbnail option and click Ok
