    XBMC Users???

    Hi Guys

Don't know if any of you are XBMC users or maybe heard of it but I have been using it off late and its just brilliant,
Recently purchased a android box of ebay and has been best money ever spent been watching movies tv and even ppv events all free for no charges,
Cant see why i have not being using this device before now but glad im now a XBMC user not having to download movies at all anymore and just view thousand thousands of movies, tv shows, music, with no hassle is just awesome...

If you are not a XBMC user i would recommend youtube xbmc and see what this software does its free to download but i just brought a box with is another option...

If you are a current user would like know your views on this software as i love it

I've always used XBMC and I still have to download all my tv and movies, so are you using a different module or plugin to "not have to download shows"?

Ive been an xbmc user for the past year or so. I started using it cuz i had problems with my laptop playing movies with large sized files. I tried xbmc and it ran beautifully. but i didnt like running it on my laptop so i built myself an htpc. I will post a guide just like the one I used. and link it here.

First off you said you use android?? Is this machine only used for a media center??? if so then dump android. Install OPENELEC. You will never go back. OE is friggin awesome. Its a linix based OS that is designed only for xbmc. So no big footprint and low on resources. acts just like an appliance in a lot of ways. Its got such a small footprint that a lot of ppl run it off of a usb stick.

Also you mentioned youtube for streaming?? I dont do a lot of streaming but the best apps are Navi-x and Mashup. They got everything that you can find on a tracker times 100. insane amount of content.

Im gonna start a few threads on this topic cuz i find that a lot of folks are still using their computers and vlc or mpc to watch their videos.

    update:
Heres a thread thats got links to the guide i followed to build my system: http://torrentinvites.org/f43/milkma...-system-71795/

i think you made the right choice. i been hearing alot about the ouya in last week or so. its the goto set top box right now. and using xbmc is def the right choice!!! what OS does it use? is it OPENELEC? if you have any problems with it lagging at all give OPENELEC a look cuz it uses very little resources. just what is needed for xbmc.

I use XMBC only because it has easy DLNA wifi. My TV has android embedded in it, so I use Mediahouse to watch downloads. I don't really want to use XMBC, but it is a good program.

    Love it!

I've got my own HTPC box, with Linux and XBMC on it! Plus a few emulators, so I've also got a nice (retro) console...

Will need to update it soo, tho. Want to make it more green (energy efficient), and a bit more powerful.

DO you guys have problem keeping up with hard disk space too? Need more storage!!!

hey bud i strongly reccomend you install OpenELEC for the OS. Its linux based and only has xbmc on it. no stuff you dont need. i think 60mb is all the space you need for it. some ppl run it off of a flash drive. Its awesome!!! a quick google of OPENELEC will point you in the right direction.

Here are some threads i have made on the subject:

http://torrentinvites.org/f43/milkma...-system-71795/ <---------- this is my setup. very awesome!!

http://torrentinvites.org/f43/turn-r...r-%2450-71796/ <---- this talks about the above mentioned Raspberry Pi setup.

As far as the space issue, you will prolly need some more hard drives. Personally i have 5 - 3tb, and several other various sized hard drives for my media. But these days if you wanna save space you can always just stream w/e media you want. OPENELEC/XBMC have tons of addons that will do this. Navi-X, Mashup, and 1Channel are the most popular.

Feel free to pm me or post any questions you got.
