Ukraine was told about preparations for a "large-scale war" with Russia

Kiev announced the preparation of troops for defense because of the threats of "military aggression"

Head of the General Staff of Ukraine Viktor Muzhenko told about the preparation of troops to repel "military aggression" of Russia. Muzhenko said this in an interview with Radio Liberty.

Answering the journalist's question about preparations for a "large-scale war" with Russia, the chief of the General Staff noted that the country has worked out plans for various "threats" that exist for Ukraine.

"Experts determine the readiness of Russia in three years, and we determine the different terms of readiness and the various scales of both provocative actions and a possible large-scale operation," Muzhenko explained.

The law on "reintegration of Donbass", officially proclaiming Russia an aggressor country, came into force on February 24. Including, according to the document, the territories of the self-proclaimed republics of the People's Democratic Republic DNR and the People's Republic of LNR are recognized as territories occupied by Russia. The law states that Kiev can take all the necessary actions, including the military, to resist "Moscow's aggression".

The Russian Foreign Ministry said that the law "actually crossed the Minsk agreements. "In Kiev, they finally confirmed their commitment to a military solution to the conflict in the south-east of Ukraine," the foreign ministry said in a statement.

In turn, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko noted that the law fixes Ukraine's right to self-defense. On February 20, the politician reported that the law "does not touch a single letter" with the Minsk agreements, and that the Ukrainian authorities "remain faithful" to the peaceful settlement of the conflict.
