A TEENAGE boy has died in hospital, a week after a serious car crash in the state’s south-west which also injured five others.

The 14-year-old from Toowoomba had been a passenger in the Toyota LandCruiser when it rolled on the Carnarvon Hwy between Surat and St George just before 6pm last Sunday.

Police have confirmed he succumbed to critical head injuries in the early hours of Sunday morning at Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital.

At the time of the accident the driver, a 32-year-old woman, was flown to Brisbane’s Princess Alexandra Hospital with head, neck and arm injuries, while another four people, mostly teenagers, were treated locally for more minor injuries.

It’s understood the group were all from the St George and Harlaxton area.

Police investigations are still ongoing.
