THE Duchess of Cambridge’s sister, Pippa Middleton, has given birth to a boy.

Pippa and her husband James Matthews welcomed their first child into the world at 1.58pm on Monday, local time.

The baby weighed about 3.8kg.

A spokeswoman for the couple said “everyone was delighted” and that mother and baby were doing well.

A Kensington Palace spokesman also said Prince William and Pippa’s sister Catherine were “thrilled” for the couple.

It comes after Matthews was spotted carrying two duffel bags into St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington on Monday, following reports Pippa was expected to give birth in the Lindo Wing maternity ward.

Her sister Catherine also gave birth to her three children there, including Prince Louis just six months ago.

The birth joins news that Prince Harry and Meghan, who are currently in Australia on their royal tour, will welcome their first child around April next year.

A heavily pregnant Middleton attended the royal wedding of Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank last Friday in Windsor where she wore a dark green dress that accentuated her bump.

The baby boy’s name is not yet known.
