A POLICE officer and two other men have been seriously wounded after being viciously attacked this morning by a pair of dangerous dogs.

A 59-year-old man has suffered life-changing injures after the violent mauling at 5am at a property in Leeds, according to reports.

He was attacked while the police officer at the scene was reportedly being bitten by one of the hounds.

Another man, aged 79, has been rushed to hospital while both mutts have been seized.

Two people, who are believed to be the animals’ owners, have been arrested following the terrifying assault in the Moortown area of Leeds.

A police cordon is in place at Carr Manor Road and also in Garth Walk, the cul-de-sac behind Carr Manor Road, reports Leeds Live.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: "Around 5am this morning, police were called to reports of two dogs attacking somebody in the street.

"We attended and there were two very aggressive dogs who had injured two members of the public.

"We called out the kennels to try and recover the dogs and with some police assistance we managed to retrieve them.

"They were taken to a secure location, pending an investigation as to whether they were out of control.

"The victims suffered serious injuries, including puncture wounds to various parts of the body.

"Two suspects have been arrested."
