MEGHAN Markle could have her baby at the royal-favourite Lindo Wing after all - as staff there have been told to avoid taking holiday near her expected April due date.

The Duchess of Sussex, 37, who is six months pregnant, had been rumoured to be eyeing up a countryside birth in rural Surrey.

She was believed to have her heart set on NHS Frimley Park Hospital for the birth of her and Prince Harry's first child.

Her initially expected choice, near the Sussex's new Frogmore Cottage home in Windsor, Berks, was perceived by some to be a further snub of royal rival Kate Middleton.

The Duchess of Cambridge gave birth to all three of her children - most recently little Prince Louis last April - at the Lindo Wing of St Mary's Hospital in Paddington, West London.

But now, The Telegraph reports that Meghan may have made a u-turn on her preferred birth venue - choosing the same spot as her sister-in-law.

All maternity staff at the Lindo Wing are said to have been instructed to be fully available in April - when the Duchess is believed to be due.

A source at the unit told the paper: "Staff at the Lindo Wing have been asked not to take holiday in April.

"Everyone thinks it's got something to do with the royal baby but no one is confirming anything."

Royal fanatic Kim Thompson got the scoop on Meghan's due date after stopping her for a chat during a walkabout in Birkenhead last month.

Kim recalled: "She said she is six months pregnant and due at the end of April, beginning of May."

Princess Diana gave birth to Prince William at the Lindo Wing in 1982, with Prince Harry following two years later.

Prince William and Kate's children were also delivered at the Lindo Wing; Prince George in 2013, Princess Charlotte in 2015 and Prince George in 2018.

A suite of two rooms - one bedroom and one "living room" at the private maternity unit is thought to cost £6,265 a night.

Each room has a satellite TV, radio, bedside phone, fridge, free wifi and a daily delivery of newspapers.

Meals are prepared fresh for each patient in a dedicated kitchen - and there is even an afternoon tea service for new parents to celebrate in luxury.

On its website, the Lindo Wing tells prospective mums: "Our world-class maternity care, combined with a personalised service, will relax and reassure you throughout one of the most emotional and exciting experiences of your life.

"The Lindo Wing offers private en suite rooms, providing a modern, homely environment in which to start your new or expanded family life.

"Deluxe rooms or suites are available for patients who would like to take advantage of a larger space."
