A MAN accused of deliberately using his vehicle to ram parked cars at a Brisbane park has lashed out at a television news team who confronted him over the damage.

Eight cars were damaged after being rammed by an “erratic” driver in what appeared to be a deliberate attack at New Farm Park on Sunday afternoon.

Witnesses reported hearing the Holden Commodore slam into another car about 1pm, before seeing the vehicle reverse and repeatedly drive into other cars.

They claim the driver was acting “erratically” and that were afraid he would turn violent if they tried to intervene.

The man, 42, was taken away by police but returned to the park about 5.30pm, lashing out at a 7 Brisbane News crew who were reporting from the scene.

Journalist Sarah Greenhalgh said he became “quite aggressive” when she approached him to ask a few questions, pushing away a microphone and knocking her before kicking a camera operator.

The man, wearing a dark singlet and a red baseball cap, warned crews to stay away.

“Get that f--king camera out of my face or I’ll deck you,” he told the camera man.

Police expect to lay dangerous driving charges once they receive the results of mandatory drug and alcohol testing.
